L-Tron Corporation Announces New Year Thermal Paper Pricing Change

VICTOR, N.Y. - Dec. 20, 2017 - PRLog -- L-Tron Corporation announces a thermal paper price increase beginning December 29, 2017. The thermal paper industry has been affected by a Chinese chemical dye plant closure. The plant is the world's largest producer of thermal paper coating. The shutdown has closed paper mills worldwide and is expected to last at least three to six months, resulting in global price increases.

Thermal paper is specially formulated to work with thermal printers. The pre-applied chemical coating on the paper is heat-sensitive, reacting to the heat generated by the print head to create an image. Thermal paper is used for a variety of applications across many industries, including law enforcement electronic citation (e-citation).

L-Tron plans to keep its price increases to a minimum, announcing a $10 per case increase for continuous paper and $11 per case increase for perforated paper beginning on December 29, 2017. Free ground shipping applies to all orders. The company is encouraging its customers to immediately evaluate their paper needs, keeping in mind that thermal paper shelf life is 1 year.
