NFL Player, James Ihedigbo Hosts "The Rock Relief" for Those Affected by Houston Flooding

HOUSTON - April 24, 2016 - PRLog -- James Ihedigbo is a 9 year NFL Veteran Safety that won the Super Bowl with the Baltimore Ravens in 2013 and went on to play for the Detroit Lions the past two seasons. Ihedigbo and his wife, Brittany are stepping up to give back to the community they now reside in by hosting "The Rock Relief" to collect needed supplies for those that have recently been affected by the horribly flooding in the Houston area.

The collection event to "stuff the bus" full of needed items for the flood victims will be held at The Reflections Of Christ Kingdom World Outreach International (9321 Edgebrook St, Houston, TX) on Saturday, April 30 from 2-4pm.

"When we began to see and hear about all of the communities and families affected by this weather, we (my wife) wanted to do something to get these people help," says Ihedigbo.  "Usually, when a flood happens or something like a fire, people will help right away, but we tend to forget about the days and weeks to come, that there is still a need for daily items we take for granted.  I called my church and they were happy to help put this together, hopefully filling the entire school bus of needed items that we can get to the people of Houston immediately."

Items that are needed and being requested by the Adventist Community Services (ACS), Disaster Relief include the following, bottled water, wrapped snacks, diapers, baby food, personal items and toiletries, blankets and bedding, cleaning supplies, yard tools (rakes, shovels, brooms), black garbage bags, work gloves, mosquito repellant and sun screen.

Ihedigbo's Foundation, Hope Africa USA will be helping fund these efforts and gathering volunteers to assist in all efforts.
