After his war buddy, Will Durant, falls ill, Charles Merritt puts him on the train to Tucson, then follows on horseback. Sometime later, Charles finds Will dead under a railroad water tank, shot in the chest. After burying his compatriot, Charles embarks on a vengeful quest, swearing to gun down whoever murdered his old friend. When he meets the beautiful Elizabeth McAllister, Charles finds himself falling in love, and he’s suddenly faced with a difficult choice: either pursue his passions for Elizabeth, or satisfy his bloodlust to avenge his slain friend.

Fans of good old fashioned Western tales are sure to enjoy Train To The Sun. In it, author Don Yarber proves he has the chops for the genre, with his careful attention to historical detail and his descriptive, engaging storytelling style. It’s often disappointing to read tales that purport to highlight specific time periods in history, what with their failure to capture the truth and authenticity of the era; however, Train To The Sun certainly does not fall into that category. One would almost believe Yarber transported himself directly from the Old West with a true-life story plucked straight from the legendary age. Highly recommend.
