April 24, 2012 - PRLog -- Mt Prospect, IL --The exhibition of Edelman’s work is the second of a two part exhibition by the Glenview of the celebration of spring, and is titled Nature in the Abstract.

Edelman is particularly pleased to be selected by the Glenview Public Library to be part of their spring exhibition.  She says, “To me spring and its promise of new life demands that we care for the land and the resources.  My work reflects respect and care for the land and its resources. And to share my view of this with my friends and neighbors is very exciting.”

There is a rich organic, tactile feeling in Edelman’s work which is appropriate for the season and the subject. Her work focuses on the relationship between humans and the environment.  She uses symbolic landscape images that draw the viewer into her paintings.

It is because stewardship of resources are frequently at cross purposes to consumption that the ever increasing pressure on resources and  the impact on the landscape become issues that are of increasing relevance to the human race.

“This impact on the landscape,” says Edelman, “Is an ideal that I wish to illustrate. My work reflects respect for the care of the land and its resources, as well as the mysteries of the world itself.”

Born in Lowell, MA Edelman moved to Wilmette IL and currently resides in Mt Prospect, IL where she has her studio. She studied fashion illustration at the American Academy of Art. Later she studied at The Art Institute of Chicago and the Evanston Art Center,  and she is also a member of the Glenview Art League.
