Local Veterans Receive Recognition on TVB Broadcast

TELLICO VILLAGE, Tenn. - July 5, 2018 - PRLog -- The video is based on the AV presentation Jan Sampson of Tellico Village Singers produced that includes the images and details of local residents who served in the military or are serving. The original AV was to be shown prior to a 4th of July performance of the Tellico Village Singers at the Tellico Village First Baptist Church.

When approached Bill Whitehouse a Tellico Village Broadcasting editor/post production volunteer agreed to modify the AV to video, lay down a sound-track and convert the AV to broadcast video.

Sampson continued her roll of producer and she and Whitehouse worked on the project until it was completed. They enlisted the help of VFW member Jim Jorgensen to be narrator. Jorgensen is known by Tellico Village viewers as the host and producer of the series The Veteran Next Door.

The final hurdle was to find music to accompany the production. The music agreement for the music played at the Tellico Village Singers performance did not cover the broadcast.. A phone call to USMC Gunnery Sergeant Rachel Ghadiali , Assistant Communication Strategy Chief "The Presidents Own," was time well spent.

Gunnery Sergeant Ghadiali quickly recommended some music marches, ran the request up the chain of command, and Whitehouse soon had the music he needed to accompany the video.

Keith Sanderson TVB station manager says, "This effort is a good example of the kind of programming that can be achieved when organizations such as the Tellico Village Singers and TVB work together. "

The recording and editing studios are located on the second floor of the Public Safety Building located at 210 Chota Road.

Members don't have to read music but must be able to carry a tune. The choir provides practice tapes, so members can rehearse when able and still continue their travel interests.   It is directed by Dennis Loy, a professional choral conductor who recently retired to Tellico Village.
