25th Year is Record Year for TVB

LOUDON, Tenn. - Jan. 26, 2019 - PRLog -- This past yearTellico Village Broadcasting (TVB) not only celebrated its 25th anniversary it enjoyed record-breaking viewership.

Even though the station began uploading its programming to the Internet in 2011, it continued to follow a business broadcast mode. It wasn't until 2017 that it began to shift from that model to a business model that provides on demand online content."

"It made sense to make the change," Says Keith Sanderson, TVB Station Manager.  "By promoting online programming we now serve everyone in Tellico Village who has Internet access, plus anyone anywhere who is interested in Tellico Village.   We still can be viewed on charter 193, but the bulk of our marketing and promotion is dedicated to letting our viewing audience know what  programming is available online, anytime. One important way we do this is to provide them links such as this one that provides information about Tellico Village organizations and clubs.

Sanderson says, "It is not unusual when I am speak at the Home Owners Association introduction, or signing up new villagers for the TVB programming update list, to have a new resident tell me that when they were in the process of searching for community in which to relocate they watched TVB online."

Other factors that helped increase viewership of TVB include, better content and more interesting programs, better use of technical capabilities, and a volunteer staff that is constantly raising the bar.

Plans for 2019 include continuing to promote online/on demand, and individual programs, to update the TVB website, adding some innovative and new programming, and to continue overall improvement in all aspects of serving the TVB viewership audience.

TVB is supported by and a component of the Tellico Village Property Owners Association. Our well-equipped recording and editing studio is located at 210 Chota Road; upstairs in the Public Safety Building. Our staff meetings are conducted on Tuesday mornings. Recordings are made on a scheduled basis.
