| Pullman Good Food Co-op Announces Future Home in the Heart of Downtown Pullman"We went back to the drawing board," said Garth Mader, Board Member and Chair of the Location Committee. "We listened carefully to feedback from our members and decided to start smaller to ensure financial sustainability while still delivering on our mission. This isn't just about opening a grocery store—it's about anchoring something bigger: economic and community renewal. A food co-op downtown will support neighboring businesses, bring people together, and help revitalize Pullman's downtown for years to come." The Co-op plans to feature a full-service experience including:
In order to open the store, the co-op will need to raise funds for the interior design and construction as well as fixtures and inventory. This includes bathrooms, a commercial kitchen for prepared foods, refrigeration, shelving, lighting, and all other essentials required to operate a grocery store. A capital campaign has launched to raise the funds and includes member equity, tax-deductible donations, loans, and grants. The Co-op's opening date will be shared after build-out plans are finalized and sufficient capital is raised. A special annual meeting on December 5 will both celebrate the new downtown location and officially kick off the capital campaign, welcoming members, supporters, and community partners to participate in shaping the Co-op's future. More details will be shared soon. Organized in 2018, the Pullman Good Food Co-op is a member-owned business working to open Pullman's first member-owned grocery store. The Co-op is dedicated to making fresh, local, and sustainable food more accessible, and ensuring every member-owner has a voice in shaping the future of Pullman's food landscape.
