LOS ANGELES - Sept. 15, 2014 - PRLog -- Former DJ at KJLH Radio and singer/songwriter of the hit single “I See You Baby” of London based group Groove Armada is sponsoring the Saturday, October 25, 2014 “Uplifting Minds II” (ULMII) free entertainment conference to be held at the Celebrity Centre in Hollywood by serving on the judges panel during its national talent competition showcase. Gramma Funk the international Funk/Dance personality joins a long list of sponsors of the conference that offers a free entertainment business panel discussion, and a national talent competition showcase where 10 acts will compete for the vocal, songwriting and dance ULMII Awards, and a long list of prizes.

Gramma Funk also worked at Next Plateau Records in New York working with such artists as Salt-N-Pepa, and contributed to Foxy Brown’s multi-platinum release “Chyna Doll” (Def Jam). The hit single of Groove Armada “I See You Baby,” which has a remix by Fatboy Slim, is featured on the recent Nike “Fuel Band” commercial (http://youtu.be/BicFswXw2_U ), has been licensed out to many projects that include ABC’s Third Watch; Dreamworks Road Trip; HBO’s “The Sopranos”; Paramount Pictures’ What Women Want with Mel Gibson; Universal Pictures’ American Wedding; Warner Bros. Pictures’ Romeo Must Die, and Disney’s The Hot Chicks with Rob Schneider. “I See You Baby”  is also heard on Mitsubishi “Spitfire 2000” commercial. The single appears on Groove Armada’s album “Vertigo” (Sony Records) that has reached gold status.

Gramma Funk produced parties known as The Funk Hut where performances of such high-profilers as Diddy, Wu Tang, Queen Latifah, Busta Rhymes, Doug E. Fresh and the Fugees were common sights.

The 15 year-old “Uplifting Minds II” free entertainment conference is held annually in Baltimore (at Security Square Mall) and Los Angeles. On Saturday October 25th it  will be held from 1 – 5 p.m. at the Hollywood venue (parking is free).
