After their initial unpleasant introduction to one another, Giselle and Alex soon strike up a fiery, passionate romance. The only problem? Alex is a bullfighter, and after having lost her car racing father, Giselle is wary of taking the chance of losing someone else she cares deeply for to similarly dangerous circumstances. She decides to pursue a relationship with Alex, though, and all appears to be going well – until a matador acquaintance is killed in the ring, forcing Giselle to flee out of a refusal to watch Alex suffer the same deadly fate...when she herself is involved in a life-threatening accident, though, Giselle soon begins to realize that there are no “sure things” – but will this prompt her to rush back into Alex’s awaiting arms...?

Ring Of Fire is a tender, heartrending read. In it, author Virginia Nosky successfully uses a compelling love story as the template for an insightful commentary on the unpredictable nature of life. Though Giselle’s concerns about her and Alex’s uncertain future together are understandable, readers are sure to find themselves egging her on in order to prevent the throes of fear from blocking her true happiness. In convincing fashion, Nosky displays the genuine affection that Alex and Giselle feel for one another, which only makes Giselle’s prolonged hesitation that much more frustrating. True, there are no guarantees in life, but we must all reach a point in which we realize that our desire for what we want must ultimately outweigh the fear of potentially losing it. As such, Ring Of Fire serves as an effective reminder that without risk, there is no reward. An engaging read.
