July 8, 2010 - PRLog -- Miami, FL, July 10, 2010:  When writing a book about cuisine you still have to describe the; who, what, where, when, why and how.
Author and chef, Michael Bennett (Executive chef of Bimini Boatyard in Fort Lauderdale) is finding the words for his next book atop an elliptical trainer instead of in front of a stove.
His next book is more about the thought of the “Culture” of cuisine, than it is the food and cooking techniques to describe a recipe. “Culture of Cuisine” is the name of his next book and it will follow the inception and rise of a New American culinary movement - that occurred in South Florida - through the eyes of other top South Florida chefs.
Chef Michael's third book in two years is being written from the heart. He found that getting to that half century mark in his life was troubling for him to accept. Days were he could work weeks unending filled with 18 hour days are now gone. Working out for an hour or so a day strengthened his stamina for those 12 hour days in the kitchen but, he has found it also produces results for his writing. Michael's mind is free to drift while “in the (workout) zone”, formulating thoughts for the book. “Some people find their thoughts after seeing the bottom of a Jack Daniels bottle, I find that my thoughts are released while my heart is pumping atop the elliptical trainer.”
After producing two cookbook since 2009, one might think that chef Michael can't keep up this pace. Being in this business has taught Michael many things. One is to pace yourself and another is to produce artful creations while the emotions are there. Michael believes his heart-felt writing and comes from deep inside oneself. Michael is constantly on the move and doing something. If not producing literary works, it is new culinary formations of thought - as a new recipe for his ever-changing menu at Bimini Boatyard.

Michael's hints on writing your own cookbook:
Schedule time alone, without interruptions in front of a computer. Let your mind wonder and enter the words and thoughts that emerge. Don't worry about grammar, just keep typing and format the words later after your thoughts are complete and set on the page.
Keep a notepad if you are old school or do like Michael, texts himself on his cell phone and leaves himself a message when a special thought surfaces. You'll never no where or when inspiration hits you.
Always keep the smallest thought because many of them turn your writing around in un-expected ways.
Getting published is difficult. Be aware of other writers/publishers needs for your style of information. Some will contact you. Others you should keep on a speed file of email addresses so you can shoot them a quick note once in a while to let them in on what you are doing that's new and noteworthy.
The more people see your name in print, the more recognizable your name the better for your book sales in the long run.
Donate your literary vibe to others. If they know they can count on for a certain twist on any topic, you will get more requests.
