It Was Not Supposed to End This Way

March 9, 2010 - PRLog -- Peak City Publishing, LLC and All Booked Up are co-sponsoring a short story contest which is aimed at encouraging local and aspiring authors to share their talent in creative writing with the rest of the community.

Peak City Publishing, LLC and All Booked Up are co-sponsoring a series of short story contests called “The First Line.”   The first contest in the series, launched in January, 2010, is targeted at young adult authors in the community.  Participants must be between the ages of 12 and 20 years and the manuscript must begin with the first statement:  “It was not supposed to end this way.”

Peak City Publishing owner, Shiloh Burnam, said the contest is the first big project for the company.  The vision of the company is to be the premier publisher of choice for worldwide publications.  She went on to say, “The First Line Short Story Contest is important to proving ourselves as a community-minded company.  Our company’s model is to establish partnerships with our authors, community and readers.”  

An independent panel of judges will review each manuscript for plot, character development, and overall entertainment.  Winners will receive a copy of the published series and the bragging rights to being published!
