16th Annual Spring Green Home Tour Will Feature High Performance Homes Throughout the Triangle

RALEIGH, N.C. - April 14, 2021 - PRLog -- The High Performance Building Council (HPBC) of the Triangle, a joint council of the Home Builders Associations (HBAs) of Durham, Orange, and Chatham Counties and of Raleigh-Wake County, presents the 2021 Spring Green Home Tour on April 24-25 and May 1-2. This year's Tour will be a hybrid event, with some homes featuring in-person touring and all 18 homes featuring their own Online Tours, including a 3D Virtual Tour that will stay live through the end of 2021. The Spring Green Home Tour will showcase a variety of excellent examples of green home construction at various levels of national certification: National Green Building Standard (NGBS), ecoSelect, ENERGY STAR^®, Duke HERO and HERS. Each home in the Tour is inspected and third-party verified, making sure it meets the minimum certification requirements established by its specified program.

With today's home buyers looking for healthy, efficient, and cost-effective homes, high performance builders are poised to fulfill these consumer needs. The Tour showcases a diverse collection of certified high performance new homes, with links for the public to reach out to building professionals for questions and/or comments. Homes entered in the Tour may be in various stages of construction or owner-occupied. This is a unique opportunity to see firsthand some of the innovative high performance building practices at work in our area.

The Triangle has long been recognized as a leader in building innovative high performance green homes. According to Home Innovation Research Labs, North Carolina continues to be ranked first in the country in the number of NGBS Green Certified single family homes.
