Light Needed for Veterans: A Call to Action

OMAHA, Neb. - Oct. 18, 2016 - PRLog -- Local non-profit organizes lamp drive to help homeless veterans transition into permanent housing.

After learning that lighting is one of the hardest things to come by when transitioning into housing WCMAD's Mick Manley thought that a lamp drive would be an easy and successful way to help. WCMAD has always been available to take clothing and personal hygiene donations, but there are so many other ways to help that are easily overlooked. Instead of throwing out old lamps, or donating them to be sold at Goodwill, they can be taken to Mick's centrally located office to be placed right in the homes of veterans in need.

WCMAD is excited to have collected 5 lamps this week, but they hope that this is only the beginning. Mick has set a goal of 25 lamps for this drive, and we hope that you can help! Mick adds  "We believe sometimes the smallest gestures can bring the greatest reward, such as providing something as simple as light to someone who provided us with so much more – freedom!" The light of a lamp can go a long way, and WCMAD is just waiting to take those old lamps off your hands. Contact Mick Manley directly to organize a drop off today!
