The Tibetan Buddhist Monks of Drepung Gomand Monastery of India

NEWTON, N.J. - April 16, 2015 - PRLog -- The Tree of Health Center and Unity of Sussex County are honored to present the Tibetan Buddhist Monks of the Drepung Gomand Monastery of India as they pass through our area on their tour of the United States.

The event will take place on Tuesday, November 3^rd, 2015 from 9:00am to 5:00pm at Unity of Sussex County, 25 Mudcut Rd., Lafayette NJ, 07848. Unity of Sussex County offers a large space with a beautiful chapel, plenty of parking and an outdoor labyrinth.

The eight-hour event will host a number of various activities including, Chanting and Prayers (Puja) for World Peace and Healing, teachings on Buddhism, The Four Noble Truths, and a painting class on creating prayer stones (Mani Stones with Om mani padme hum) that participants will take home with them.  If time permits, the Monks will also grace us with their popular Tea Puja – Chanting and Prayers to overcome negativities that may be obstacles in obtaining release from suffering and to promote spiritual, emotional, mental and physical well-being.

The Tibetan Buddhist Monks’ beautiful hand-made crafts will be available for sale throughout the day. All proceeds including donations will go toward funding the Buddhist Monks of Drepung Gomang Monastery. Suggested donation is $25 per person.

It is a true honor to welcome the monks to beautiful Sussex County, and support the important spiritual work to which they dedicate their lives. The event will be co-hosted by Linda Mitchell and Debra M. Hollinrake, owners of the Tree of Health Center in Newton, NJ, and Reverend Janice Billera of Unity of Sussex County.
