"What's Love got to do with It" (PHN Exclusive)

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Dec. 8, 2014 - PRLog -- - Tina Turner said it best, "what's love, a second-hand in motion." This newsletter will probably make many women jump with exhilaration, and most men, condemning me to the guillotine. One thing is for sure, my wife will definitely exclaim, "finally"! For most men, including myself, we have no idea what love is, what it means, nor how to give it. Now I have to speak for the Men, and please note that I do not represent all men, just a percentage which I will leave you to decide the percentage. My wife, and it seems every woman I have ever dealt with seem to be in cahoots in their beliefs. I have no idea what love is! Or what love does, obviously!  I pay the bills, clean when necessary, and even buy a new blouse or perfume on special occasions. What a great guy, you would think! NOT! There is nothing that I love most about coming home from a hard day's work than silence from the world. Along comes my wife.........( with a bullhorn ) guess what? "What", I murmur in the most sarcastic voice and tone imaginable. I brace for her spill, and then she unleashes a barrage of events that I could care less about. Besides, the key phrases that spark interest, I am in another world that involves one person, "Me". I pretend that the dialogue interests me; however, I am so far away, it would take a 15 hour flight to reach me. Finally, she finishes; and what happens next would send a normal man to the front steps of the local sanitarium. She plops on the couch next to me and asks me to rub her feet. The audacity! At this moment, the 15 hour plane ride to my world has just turned into the one way trip to the moon. I just worked all day, I'm hungry, tired, and really want to get to the remote to watch sports center. My feet hurt so bad baby, she says in that toddler voice. It took me a while to understand, but now it's clear.

A woman desires the attention and assurance that she is respected, appreciated, and significant in the life of her partner. I understand, ooh do I understand; however, only after years of witnessing woman after woman grow this cancerous disease of resentment and anger towards me.  It's true, as cliché as it may sound, When a woman's fed up there is almost nothing you can do about it! The first thought of men is to assume that there is another man! Wrong! The bible places distinct duties and applications that will assure you a happy life with your mate. "Be completely humble and gentle; Be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the spirit through the bond of peace."- Ephesians 4:2-3 The very scene and scenario I painted earlier happens in living rooms nationwide on a daily occurrence. As a man, we take the time to learn a woman. The everyday ritual she performs is not as much of the essence as we see it. In retrospect, it's a woman who is trying desperately to reach us. The fault I place on women is simple! We men, struggle with reading the signs! Yes, women, I am admitting this. There needs to be a hooked-on-phonics book for men so we can understand the building blocks of love. Communication in any relationship is Key! And Men, we need to listen! "Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins."- 1 Peter 4:8 The most common misconception is that we men have an entitlement as leaders of our household. True in the sense; however, the entitlement which comes with the title is one that has to be earned, and nurtured to remain valid. I for one, know the pain and hurt a divorce carries. I am a strong advocate for family and despise the very thought of divorce. I believe any marriage can be saved. In hindsight, I couldn't save my first marriage, which I carry shame from to this very day!
