Panel to Discuss Perspectives on Evaluating Novel Diagnostics for Reimbursement - Next Gen Dx Summit

The 2013 Next Generation Dx Summit to bring together all of the major players in the evolving areas of diagnostics.
 
NEEDHAM, Mass. - May 8, 2013 - PRLog -- Cambridge Healthtech Institute will host its fifth annual Next Generation Dx Summit from August 20-22, 2013 at the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.  The Summit offers a comprehensive view of the changing landscape of diagnostics and is designed to bring together all of the major players in the evolving areas of diagnostics.  The seven meetings comprising the Summit will showcase improvements in technology research and development with an emphasis towards application to the clinical laboratory and commercialization.  

This year's plenary keynote session will feature a discussion on perspectives on evaluating novel diagnostics for reimbursement.  The panel will be moderated by Andrew Fish of AdvaMedDx and will feature Elaine Jeter of Palmetto GBA, Aaron Bossler of University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics/AMP Economic Affairs Committee, Dwight Denham of Beckman Coulter, and Lee Newcomer of United Healthcare.

The three-day conference will feature over 100 speakers.  Attendees will hear presentations from Dr. William Dalton of H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute, Dr. Sailesh Chutani of Mobisante, Pamela Swatkowski of Abbott Molecular, Dr. James Musser of The Methodist Hospital Research Institute, Dr. Susan Novak-Weekley of Southern California Permanente Medical Group, Dr. Jeffrey Ross of Foundation Medicine, Dr. Jack Lichy of VA Medical Center, Harry Glorikian of Scientia Advisors, and Dr. Randall Hayden of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  

Attendees will have the opportunity to choose from 13 short courses and 7 concurrent tracks covering Point-of-Care Diagnostics, Cancer Molecular Markers to Guide Therapy, Molecular Diagnostics for Infectious Disease, Companion Diagnostics, Commercialization of Molecular Diagnostics, and Molecular Profiling of Circulating Tumor Cells.

There are plenty of other highlights as well, including breakout discussion groups, which offer the opportunity to discuss relevant topics in small group settings.  This year's exhibit hall will feature an expanding number of exhibit booths and extensive poster presentations.
