Oct. 7, 2012 - PRLog -- Golfers with back pain study 1a – Potential Causes and Cures

Advanced Golf Performance of Mooresville NC is currently accepting applicants to enter our groundbreaking 6D biomechanical golf swing study of back pain and the golf swing.

Back injuries sideline more golfers than any other injury.  It is estimated that 66% of all amateur golfers (and 33% of all professional golfers) will play with back pain during their golfing careers.

Exact cause speculations include 1) improper swing mechanics, 2) deterioration of muscle mass & strength, 3) mobility and flexibility restrictions.

Study (1a) will utilize our 6D motion measurement capturing system to collect all biomechanical swing data of each subject.  The study will compare all collected swing data (over 200 measurements) against golfers without back pain.

Study participants are simply required to 1) have back pain associated with the golf swing, 2) be physically able to swing the golf club and sign a waiver stating so 3) spend 20-30 minutes at our facility to complete the swing data & capturing.

The goal of the study is clearly define the major factors contributing to back pain associated with the golf swing.

Upon study conclusion Advanced Golf Performance will post the data of 2 groups of golfers.  Golfers with back pain associated to the swing and golfers with no back pain associated to the golf swing.

The golf swing is a dynamic and explosive movement requiring mobility, stability, flexibility, balance, speed and power.

It is our current belief that restrictions in major areas of the body are leading to biomechanical breakdowns and placing extreme loads on the spine.

Study 1a is the first of its kind and will assist other researchers & biomechanists to expand on the data for continued back pain correlations, prevention and treatment techniques.

This is a free and unpaid study and participation is voluntary.
