Increase your Hip Speed to increase your Driving Distance - Hip Speed Trainer

Ever wonder how the long drivers do what they do? Want to learn to hit the golf ball a lot farther? The secret to power production is in the hips and swing sequence.

MOORESVILLE, N.C. - Oct. 27, 2013 - PRLog -- Thanks to Titleist Performance Institute and Advanced Motion Measurement we now have a complete set of data on power generation and the golf swing.

When studying the longest ball hitters on the planet its easy to see what they do different than the average players.

When it comes to producing power with all ground based rotational sports we need to properly sequence the swing and use the strongest muscles in the body - the legs, glutes and hips.

The golf swing is really nothing more than an entire body stretch shorten cycle.  The goal of the back swing is to pre-stretch all the muscles we are going to fire during the swing.

Once the muscles are stretched we need to unwind the body from the ground up.  The first speed multiplier in the body is the hips.  When measuring hip speed of the average amateur golfer we find hip speeds of 1-1.5 MPH.  When studying hip speed of the longest hitters we find speeds as high as 4.5 MPH!

This video shows us working with a golfing client who had a 1MPH hip speed.  We took him to 2 MPH and increased club head speed by 15 MPH in under 1 hour!

Once the hips unwind the energy travels to the Torso, arms, hands and club.
