First Class Concepts Investigates the iPhone 5

We’ve all seen the hype, but just how good is the iPhone 5? First Class Concepts, a direct marketing and sales company based in Glasgow, looks at how the new gadget differs from its predecessors.

Sept. 19, 2012 - PRLog -- First Class Concepts are big Apple fans, we use their iPads regularly for our marketing campaigns and we don’t know what we would do without them. The excitement has been building for many weeks now and finally the iPhone 5 has been revealed. We've taken a look at what you can expect from the latest phone.

The iPhone 5 has a taller screen, upgrading from 3.5 inches on the 4S to 4 inches on the 5. This will enable a much better viewing experience for videos (with a widescreen option available) however there is one problem. Apps designed for a 3.5 inch screen will not fit the iPhone 5 screen, so they will be centred with a grey area around the outside. Don't worry, we've checked, they'll still work!

The iPhone 5 now weighs 112g compared to the 140g of the iPhone 4S. One of the team at First Class Concepts joked that it has been on a pretty serious diet! That said the new A6 processing chip is a heavyweight. Apple claims that the iPhone 5 is twice as fast at CPU tasks and has twice the graphics performance as well. The chip is 22% smaller and is more efficient which helps to explain why it has the same battery performance as the 4S but with a smaller battery.

The camera is now 25% smaller on the iPhone 5 but has a whole host of new features added it which make it work a lot better in low light and take photos 40% faster.

The iPhone 5 comes with the new iOS 6 operating system which has 200 new features. The ones to note are:

-A new improved version of Siri which enables it to answer more questions and requests

-A feature called Passbook with allows to you collate all of your cinema tickets, airline boarding passes, sports tickets etc... in one place.

-The integration with iOS 6 and iCloud means that you can open and edit all of your documents on your iPhone 5, save them and they will be updated across all other iOS 6 devices.

We have to admit, at First Class Concepts we were a little disappointed that they didn’t come up with a new design for the phone, we liked the shape of the iPhone 3! Nevertheless the new iPhone looks jam-packed with impressive features to keep everyone satisfied. We’re looking forward to getting it in our hands and having a go.
