March 7, 2012 - PRLog -- RateTea, an interactive website where anyone can rate and review tea, has added a category for Kyobancha.  RateTea has specific pages for over 150 varieties of tea, and Kyobancha is the latest addition to these pages, being categorized under green tea along with the other categories of green teas, including Japanese, Chinese, and others.

The new page already includes three listings of specific offerings of Kyobancha from different companies, and has the capacity for anyone to contribute ratings and reviews.  The page also contains a brief informational article about this type of tea.

About Kyobancha:

Kyobancha is named for Kyoto, where this particular style of tea originated.  In contrast to other forms of bancha, Kyobancha is made from larger leaves that have been allowed to mature over the winter.  The leaves are harvested in the spring, and then roasted, imparting a unique character to the tea that in some respects resembles hojicha, the more familiar Japanese roasted green tea, but with its own unique twist.
