ORROA Adds Four World-Class Sponsors for 2011 Season

July 6, 2011 - PRLog -- The Offshore Racing Rule Owners Association (ORROA) welcomes four new sponsors for the 2011 season. Doyle Sailmakers, Line Honors, North Technology Group and the Sheboygan Yacht Club are the latest companies and organizations to show their support for fleet racing under the ORR Rule. They join Harken, Inc. as ORROA 2011 sponsors.

Jon Dolson, Commodore at Sheboygan Yacht Club, states, “We have many members who race on the Great Lakes under the ORR rule. Anything that encourages sailing, promotes fair racing, and subsequently yacht club involvement, is good for our sport.” The Sheboygan Yacht Club is home to one of only four Sailing Centers in the USA.

Industry leaders, Doyle Sailmakers, Line Honors and North Technology Group, have also recognized the importance of supporting ORROA. Two companies dedicated to advancing technology in sailing, Doyle Sailmakers and North Technology Group, have recently become sponsors of ORROA. Line Honors, a performance sailing supply company, also joins this prestigious sponsors list.

ORROA board member, Brian Geraghty, expresses the boards’ appreciation of its sponsors. “We are proud that this new organization has gained such world-class sponsors. To be recognized and supported by such a respected group of companies and organizations puts the Offshore Racing Rule Owners Association in a position to do more for fair fleet racing.”

It shall be the purpose of ORROA to promote and encourage offshore racing under the ORR Rule, and in so doing, provide a more scientific, researched-based handicapping system, in order to ensure participation by a much broader base of boat owners.
