Masterpiece Design Group Design's $1.45 Million Vacation Retreat at Reunion Resort Near Disney

Award-winning Masterpiece Design Group teamed up with longtime Orlando builder McNally Homes to deliver one of the largest vacation homes ever built in Central Florida -- an 8-bedroom, 10-bath home with 7,000 sf that can accommodate 20 persons

March 11, 2011 - PRLog -- ORLANDO, FL – The Hospitality Division of Winter Park-based Masterpiece Design Group (MDG) partnered with longtime Windermere builder McNally Homes to deliver one of the largest vacation homes ever built in Central Florida.
The $1.45 million 8-bedroom, 10-bath Southampton in Reunion Club & Resort could also serve as a mini boutique hotel because of its lavish accouterments and ability to comfortably accommodate as many as 20 persons, says MDG President Christy Scanlon.
The residence was designed by MDG specifically for Reunion’s growing luxury vacation rental market and is the largest to be built in the resort community located minutes from Disney.
The contemporary, two-story residence is owned by a United Kingdom family as an investment. It overlooks one of Reunion’s two championship golf courses in Legend’s Corner and features six master suites, two children’s suites that can each sleep four and nearly 7,000 square feet of living area.
The Southampton is the third vacation residence at Reunion that MDG and McNally Homes have delivered. It can function as a corporate golf retreat, a hospitality house for board meetings, or a vacation getaway for large family or social gatherings and is expected to command better than $10,000 per week during peak season, notes Scanlon.
Masterpiece’s Hospitality Division specializes in residential resort properties and commercial projects, with most of its recent emphasis directed toward the growing luxury vacation rental market that has found firm traction in Central Florida.
“This isn’t an aberration but an emerging trend. It’s the reason why we partnered with McNally Homes from the beginning in the design, planning and architectural details and finishes, as well as during every step of the ambitious seven-month construction process,” says Scanlon.
The Southampton is considerably larger than its predecessor the Monaco, a luxurious two-story five-bedroom, five-bath design offering 4,613 square feet that was unveiled last summer. Both home styles continue the shift toward larger, more luxurious vacation homes capable of accommodating large groups.
The Southampton fits the bill in every respect. Because it can accommodate the short-term rental needs for as many as 20 people, it is a viable alternative to a hotel or timeshare residence. The home features a large, fully accessorized eat-in gourmet kitchen with breakfast bar and features dual built-in refrigerators/freezers, two self-clean ovens and two dishwashers. In addition there is an oversized gathering area with seating for 15, a large formal dining room which seats 20 and a 12-seat home theater with refreshment bar.
Included among the home’s many amenities are an oversized private pool and spa, summer kitchen with gas grill and pool bath.
Scanlon says a lot of research went into the planning phase of the Southampton, pointing to a recent survey conducted by Trip Advisor citing that luxury rentals at this level are fast becoming the preference of vacationing families because: 1) they offer more space; 2) they offer access to a full kitchen; 3) they sleep more people; 4) they have the ability to handle large catered events for groups or simple family meals; and 5) they provide more privacy.
Although the Southampton is lavish in every respect both inside and out, it was designed for comfort, longevity and ease of maintenance because it is an investment, notes Scanlon.
McNally Homes, an award-winning builder who has built in Isleworth, Celebration and Keene’s Pointe, is one of the featured builders in Reunion. The company is building both 35- and 55-foot wide product lines in the resort community.
The Hospitality Division, which also provides design work for boutique hotels, vacation ownership properties, clubhouses, restaurants, offices and public spaces, is part of a family of design and operating entities under MDG. The company also focuses on Model Merchandising, Residential Design, and Saturday Models, a retail division that sells furniture, accessories and other items from model homes and new home community closeouts at substantial savings
Since its inception in 1998, Masterpiece has evolved into one of the Southeast’s premier design companies with clients throughout Orlando, Tampa, Sarasota-Bradenton, Jacksonville and south Florida, as well as the Carolinas and Georgia. It has provided professional design and model merchandising services for a long line of industry heavyweights, including Lennar Homes, DR Horton Homes, Neal Communities, MI Homes, Ryland Homes, Taylor Morrison, Homes by WestBay and Fortune 500 giant Standard Pacific Homes.
