Single Parenting Made Easier

Divorce is on the rise in Australia, bringing with it many parenting challenges. Courts require proof parents can handle their children for custody. On 25 July, a special parenting workshop will help single parents with simple, practical skills.

May 24, 2010 - PRLog -- Brisbane, QLD, 25 May 2010 – International parenting expert will deliver special parenting workshop in Brisbane on 25 July.  The workshop introduces the parenting skills that could help single parents stay on top of their parenting game.

When asked about the challenges they face as a result of their divorce, single parents list having too much to do, never getting a break, needing someone to vent to and shielding their kids from the negative impacts of the divorce.  Amid the emotional turmoil of separation and court proceedings, divorcees often feel drained and lose their trust in their ability to have healthy relationships.

But it does not have to be so.  In fact, it is likely many people who divorce have never had a chance to learn good relationship skills or good parenting skills and "never knew what hit them" when it came to their previous family life.

Although there are many books out there on relationships and parenting and many online blogs and websites, it is not easy to apply much of what is out there to one's personal life.  The recent government initiatives around family relationships seem to revolve around breakdowns and crises, but there is little on the market about building a solid family unit and keeping it happy.

This will soon change for parents who participate in a parenting workshop delivered by Ronit Baras, a relationships and parenting expert from Be Happy in LIFE in Brisbane.  Titled "Happy Parents Raise Happy Kids", the workshop introduces positive thinking, communication styles, love languages, beliefs and rules to its participants and teaches simple and effective ways to build emotional intelligence.

"Economic crisis, information overload, divorce and rising stress levels make parenting today more challenging than ever", says Mrs Baras, "The need for a good parenting program is extremely high.  Since we started running parenting programs, we have had endless requests from individuals to join the workshop, particularly single parents".
Participants receive a certificate of completion, which they may be able to use to demonstrate their parenting skills in custody disputes.

Ronit Baras is an experienced motivational speaker who publishes a popular blog, called "Family Matters", with over 600 articles on family relationships, parenting and education.  She has also published books with inspiring stories for adults and teenagers.

The full day workshop will be on Sunday, 25 July 2010, at Southern Cross Sports Club on Klumpp Road, Upper Mt Gravatt and promises to make another group of parents happy for the sake of their kids.
