SDBJ Recognizes S&W Attorney Sarah Hibbard as One of SD's Most Influential Women in Life Sciences

This list celebrates women trailblazers in life sciences by highlighting their careers and significant accomplishments within the San Diego community.

Hibbard is a Snell & Wilmer corporate attorney and former in-house general counsel for a San Diego-based biotechnology company operating in the oncology space. She counsels life sciences and technology companies from formation through growth and exit, serving as a strategic advisor in the journey from research and development to commercial success. Hibbard draws on stealth start-up to multibillion-dollar company insights to serve clients, blending legal strategy, and planning with practical solutions.  As a deal-maker, she represented companies on financings, licensing and tech transfers; collaborations; sponsored research and clinical research; and commercial transactions, as well as mergers and acquisitions. In June 2021, she was selected for inclusion in San Diego Business Journal's Women of Influence in Law and in July 2021 was named a finalist in San Diego Business Journal's 2021 Next Top 40 Business Leaders Under 40.

Hibbard recognizes the importance of being actively involved with her community and organizations focused on supporting the advancement of women in the legal and STEM professions. She is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association's Governance Committee, is Co-Vice Chair of Founder's Forum for the San Diego Chapter of Women in Bio, and is also an active member of Athena, Women in STEM and the Licensing Executive Society San Diego Chapter. She is also a mentor in the Aztec Mentor Program at San Diego State University. Hibbard received her J.D. from Thomas Jefferson School of Law and her B.S. from San Diego State University.
