Circadence's Keenan Skelly Named Top 25 Women in Cybersecurity in 2019 by The Software Report

BOULDER, Colo. - May 6, 2019 - PRLog -- Keenan Skelly, Vice President of Global Partnerships and Security Evangelist at Circadence® Corporation (https://www.circadence.com/the-benefits-of-active-gamified-learning-in-cyber-training/) in Boulder, Colorado was named one of the Top 25 Women in Cybersecurity in 2019 by The Software Report.

The Software Report executives reviewed hundreds of women during the evaluation process and judged each nominee based on a series of questions about the candidate's professional capabilities. These include cybersecurity expertise, longevity in the industry, career progression and current position. They also reviewed each candidate based on qualified information sources and publicly available information.

Skelly's long list of career achievements made her an ideal winner for this award. Keenan has more than 20 years of experience in the cybersecurity industry and is among the less than 15% of executive leaders in cybersecurity who are female. She was also one of the first female U.S. Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technicians. Keenan earned two bachelor's degrees from American Military University, one in Homeland Security and the other in Information Technology, as well as two master's degrees in National Security Policy Studies from National Defense University and Cybersecurity Strategy and Information Management from The George Washington University.

Keenan's fundamental belief is that women should help other women no matter what. In fulfilling that philosophy, she acts as a mentor and role model to inspire young women to enter into the cybersecurity field. She has mentored more than 100 young women this year alone and actively works with organizations such as Cyber Patriot, Girls Who Code and Women's Society of Cyberjutsu. Her goal is to cultivate the future cybersecurity workforce so businesses can prevent imminent cyberattacks.
