-- The Whistle Stop Gallery is planning an enjoyable addition to visitor's holiday activities. Departing from the previous schedule of Sundays and a special additional date, the Gallery's State Street Station will be open December 19 – 23, 2018 from 1 to 4 PM.
"Stop by and see affordable art items, great for last minute and unique gifts," says Gallery Proprietor Joseph A. Langley. "Puzzle out a solution at our giant tabletop puzzle, and then enter to win it for free! The drawing will be held just before closing on the 23rd. If you're the lucky winner you'll be able to take it with you," he adds. Once assembled, the completed image will be one of his paintings. Mr. Langley is frequently an active participant in the shows presented at the State Street Station.
"Visit our indoor lighted forest, with a tree for every year the Whistle Stop Gallery's State Street Station has been around," he continues. The Gallery's State Street Station has a history of displaying indoor lighted trees, which are an enjoyable holiday decoration for the Proprietor. "Then, Look up at the sparkling snowflakes and stars above. Maybe you'd like one of your very own!" The ornaments will be seasonal and not religion-specific in order to provide enjoyment to a wider audience.
"The hours are 1-4, so you have plenty of time to head out to your favorite evening activities after. Don't forget to pick up a free snack before you go." When Mr. Langley was weighing options for this show's open hours, he determined that the best option would be daytime open hours both during the week and on the weekend. "Gatherings and holiday activities tend to be in the evening hours," he explains. "Whether your days are hectic or understated, I hope you will be able to visit us this holiday season!"
"Happy Holidays from the Whistle Stop Gallery" is free and open to the public. The show will be held at the Whistle Stop Gallery – State Street Station, 1938 State St., Granite City, Illinois 62040 (USA).
