First Solar Learning Lab opens in Benito Juárez Primary School

Robotics and ICT education available for the first time in the local area

HACKNEY, U.K. - Sept. 28, 2018 - PRLog -- London, England: Computer Aid International are proud to announce the opening of their first Solar-powered learning lab in the San Mateo Atenco county, in the state of Mexico. Partnering with Dell Mexico, RobotiX Fundacion and Squire and Partners, this project was designed to provide quality education to the underserved youth population in the area.

The solar lab was created from shipping containers with designs from the UK architecture firm Squire and Partners, with 11 Dell thin client computers and 10 rugged laptops donated by Dell Mexico. The educational model of RobotiX goes beyond teaching technical skills, and will allow children and young people to learn, identify and solve real life problems while having fun.

"Thanks to this new lab, more than a 1000 youth will have a space to learn computer skills and robotics focusing on improving STEM learning and developing 21st century skills, connecting them with a new world of opportunities and experience!"

-Alejandro Espinosa, Project Manager, Computer Aid International

The school we selected with RobotiX Fundacion is in an underserved area with no access to recreation or learning facilities or even parks for the youth to learn and enjoy after-school activities. RobotiX Fundacion will be teaching children and adults in groups of 20; they will study:

·         ICT and robotics,

·         Programming,

·         Mechanics

·         Other potential courses include, entrepreneurship, coding, server maintenance and English to name a few
