The canopy creates a space with optimal adaptability, a minimalist aesthetic, and year-round, all-weather use of the venue. Las Vegas experiences, on average, approximately 300 days of sunshine per year. Combined with Beer Park's western orientation, Beer Park required a solution offering shade during the day's peak, and to ensure the area remained occupied in the event of rain. Additionally, it is situated at a highly-trafficked point on the Main Strip with a view of the famous Bellagio fountain. It was paramount that the canopy material be visually stunning. "TENARA Fabric allows guests to enjoy the ultimate experience of the Strip, protected against the strong sun. Additionally, the material greatly increases thermal comfort for customers," says Peter Katcha, Director of North American Sales for SEFAR Architecture. "Visually, we wanted to help create an iconic presence, befitting the Paris Las Vegas Hotel and Casino." The 3,444 square-foot canopy utilizes SEFARArchitecture's TENARA 4T20HF fabric —woven from ePTFE fabric and fluoropolymer- In terms of durability, TENARA Fabric is inert to UV rays and provides extremely high resistance to material degradation, far surpassing all other materials of its kind: it offers the industry's only 15-year replacement warranty. TENARA Fabric is ASTM E84 – Class A fire-rated, making it an ideal canopy material for public spaces. "The TENARA fabric offers an inviting, pleasant glow under sunlight, protects the space from rain, withstands all the elements indefinitely, and when folded away, allows the space to quickly cool in the evenings," Katcha adds. Architects from Gensler Chicago and Gensler Las Vegas collaborated on the project. The Uni-Systems En-Fold® extra-wide retractable canopy system utilizes TENARA Fabric, deploying and retracting Beer Park's temporary roofing on an as-needed basis. The general contractor and installer was Austin General Contracting Inc, and GLR Engineers were the Engineer of Record. Budweiser Beer Park opened in February 2016.
