| United Way of Metropolitan Dallas Awards $480,000 Over Three Years to Reasoning MindThe Community Impact Grant will provide Reasoning Mind with three years of funding to continue and expand its online math program implementations in North Texas
By: Reasoning Mind Reasoning Mind's award falls under United Way's Education impact area, specifically the math and science strategy, which aims to fund programs that provide students with age-appropriate learning opportunities to encourage better academic performance and understanding in mathematics. This is the third CIG award for Reasoning Mind in the math and science category, having received awards in each of the last two CIG rounds. In total, United Way has pledged just over $1 million to support Reasoning Mind's work in the community. Reasoning Mind will utilize the grant monies to continue implementing its interactive, online math programs for elementary students in Dallas County—particularly in Dallas ISD and the Momentous School. Over 30,000 second through fifth-grade students now use the Reasoning Mind Foundations program in Dallas ISD, making it one of the largest blended learning implementations for mathematics anywhere in the state. Analyses each year have shown a correlation between program usage and student growth on assessments such as the Iowa Test of Basic Skill and STAAR.
