Paths cross all the time, and the only thing that's certain is our fates - both individual and collective - are completely unpredictable. No matter your background, list of accomplishments, level of intelligence, etc., the arc of your life is sure to develop in ways you could never plan or imagine…some may find that lack of control frightening, while others crave a world of unintended consequences. Such is the premise for Ghost In The Park, skillfully crafted by prolific author Ray Melnik. As with his previous offerings, Melnik presents the reader with a very fluid, wholly compelling tale exploring the ephemeral depths of unanticipated possibilities. Tracking the lives and burgeoning love of the wounded Amber and steadfast Sami, Ghost In The Park seamlessly blends romance and sci-fi, successfully forging a hybrid mix of the material and paranormal. Though a rather short read (just under 80 pages), Melnik's engrossing novella is perfectly paced and aptly developed, and its main strength is its ability to stoke the reader's imagination, inviting you to ponder the true meaning of what we tend to call "reality". A recommended read. End
