TRA will be filming the unique journey of World Rugby Sevens Champions Fiji to the Rio 2016 Olympics, as they aim to win a first ever Olympic Gold Medal for the Pacific islands... TRA will work with a group of 10 disadvantaged young people from 6 countries. The young people will follow the team through the ten rounds of the HSBC World Series Rugby Sevens between December 2015 and May 2016 to include; Dubai, Cape Town Sydney, Wellington, Singapore, Las Vegas, Vancouver, Paris, London and Hong Kong. Our young people will also be linking up with other disadvantaged young people to produce films which tell the story of their own local challenges in order to raise awareness around the globe. This is a unique opportunity for these young people bringing many benefits; Accessing social and cultural networks Learning new skills from industry professionals Having their films placed on broadcast platforms Adding to their employability and transferable skills, which will be used back in their own communities Increased confidence and self-esteem To deliver this exceptional opportunity to change the lives of these young people, The Reporters’ Academy are looking for contributions to meet the overall costs at £7000 per student. These costs include – Flights, Facilitation, and Accommodation, subsistence, project management, media production & distribution, evaluation. Fiji will be looking to break the gain line on the field.
