Dr Somdutt Prasad to Talk on Bio-Similar Treatments at the Community Ophthalmology Update 2015 Event

KOLKATA, India - July 21, 2015 - PRLog -- Celebrated ophthalmologist and retinal specialist Dr Somdutt Prasad will deliver a talk on bio-similar treatments at the Community Ophthalmology Update 2015 Event. The two-day event will be held at the Dr. B. C. Roy Institute of Eastern Railway, Kaiser Street, Kolkata, on 1^st and 2^nd August 2015.

The talk to be held on the first day of the event from 11 am to 12 noon is a part of the AntiVEGFs Update session. Dr Prasad will speak on the topic "Understanding Bio-similar molecule" where he will present a clear idea of the term bio-similarand focus on its scientific and regulatory aspects.

About Dr Somdutt Prasad

Dr Somdutt Prasad — MS, FRCSEd, FRCOphth, FACS and MFMLM — is currently a consultant ophthalmologist and retinal specialist at B.B. Eye Foundation, AMRI and i4vision. Before settling in Kolkata, India, Dr Prasad served as a consultant ophthalmologist in several hospitals in the UK where he was performing nearly 300 vitrectomy surgeries a year and treating about 1000 patients suffering from various retinal conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, venous occlusions and others.

Dr Prasad has always been an innovator and early adopter of the latest surgical techniques. He is active in the leading national and international ophthalmology societies and a regular faculty at the UK, European and American Societies of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He has authored over 75 peer-reviewed publications and 8 book chapters.
