Follow on Google News | "Dark Angel Amish", a new book telling of a cult's retribution in a bucolic paradise, just releasedTwelve years living in PA Dutch Country allowed Lou Kritz to see that Amish life is not always as it is described in the tourist brochures.
By: LJK Words “The tourist driving through the farm country of eastern Pennsylvania is not aware of the efforts used to keep church members submissive and quiet,” Kritz says. The book examines both this concept and how events in a tight-knit society affect not only the society’s members, but also those outsiders who inadvertently find themselves drawn into the drama. “Dark Angel Amish” is the story of three women. First is an “English” woman, or outsider, who travels to Lancaster County on business. Second is a local professional lady with a family background in the Mennonite church who is struggling with a difficult secret. Third is a young Amish farmwife who is unfairly targeted for her own poor health and her philandering husband. Arthur Lange, of “Today’s New Lit,” says, “Kritz has shown a much different side of the currently overworked Amish genre. His jolting narrative is more realistic than the fairy tale-like fabrications making it to the bookshelves and screens today.” Kritz self-published his work to control the story and not bend to current trends. The book is available on all ebook platforms as well as a paperback at Amazon’s CreateSpace. Those interested can visit www.LJKwords.com for click-thru links and information on Lou Kritz.
