NAGS HEAD, N.C. - May 9, 2015 - PRLog -- There is beauty in our world. And it is magnificently portrayed in miniature at this year’s 24th International Miniature Art Show exclusively at Seaside Art Gallery, both in the gallery and online. This much anticipated art show is open now through May 30th, 2015.

In the showroom one is instantly engaged in the fine art of capturing life across 5 continents, 8 countries, 36 states in the USA, through 574 miniature works of art created by more than 200 renowned artists, each depicting a window of exquisite beauty expressed through the eyes of each artist’s heart.

Harmonious diversity. Each artist is influenced by their individual geographic surroundings, yet summarily they captivate the harmonious beauty found throughout the world. South Africa. Hong Kong. Germany. France. Israel. United States of America. United Kingdom. These miniature jewels are in watercolor, graphite, paper, bronze sculpture, oils, pastels, ink, mixed media and more.

Since the 16th Century, miniature artists work diligently with specific techniques to portray subjects from life-sized to ‘minute’ in scale. The artists, who often use magnifying lenses and close-range binoculars, miniaturize every brush or pencil stroke. They create miniature works of art with remarkable results in excellence, fine detail and brilliant visual expression. 19th century miniaturist Thomas Sier Cummings said, “Works in miniature should possess the same beauty of composition, correctness of drawing, breadth of light and shade, brilliancy, truth of colour, and firmness of touch, as works executed on a larger scale.”

The 24th International Miniature Art Show at Seaside Art Gallery features the very finest works of art in miniature. This show is only 1 in 20 such recognized miniature art shows in the country. It is an excellent affordable opportunity for one to bring into one’s home exquisite art by a renowned artist. The show can be viewed both in the gallery and online .

Any one attending the show in May can vote for their favorite “mini” for the People’s Choice Award. The winning piece will be announced along with the Judge’s awards at a special awards reception at the gallery on Saturday May 23rd, 2015, 7pm-9pm. This year’s Judge is Judy Lalingo who is an esteemed Signature Member of the Miniature Artists of America. The awards reception is free to the public. Refreshments are served. Attendees can see the award winning pieces, and meet many of the artists and Judge in person.
