The year-long campaign aims to raise funds for veteran causes by providing 5-star publicity and branding opportunities to local businesses at various sponsored events. Funds from business memberships and corporate sponsorships for the kick-off event will benefit Project Rescue, a project that donates homes to qualifying veterans. According to U.S. Census Bureau statistics, 70 percent of homeless veterans suffer from substance abuse, while 50 percent experience mental health issues, such as post-traumatic stress disorder, with many ending up living on the streets. In addition to making a difference in the lives of the nation's veterans, the companies also are joining forces to combat hunger in the estimated 16 million children who experience hunger in the nation each day.
