Globi Web Solutions Announces Update to Podio Super Menu

CALGARY, Alberta - Dec. 22, 2014 - PRLog -- Globi Web Solutions has released a major update to its Podio Super Menu, an extension for Google’s Chrome browser. The result is a faster, more intuitive tool that businesses can use to improve productivity, the company says.

“The Super Menu makes navigating Podio accounts much quicker and easier. Users can access their favorite workspaces and apps with a single click,” said Andreas Huttenrauch, chief digital strategist for Globi Web Solutions. “The update includes adding more features to the menu, along with some significantly improved user-interface hacks.”

Citrix Podio is an online collaborative work platform offering a wide variety of features. Users who install the extension can customize the Podio logo into a menu of their most-used workspaces and apps.

“The previous Super Menu Chrome extension relied on scraping HTML from the logged-in user’s Podio account. This was a slow, cumbersome and error-prone process,” Huttenrauch explained. “The new Super Menu now has a companion website which allows users to configure their browser menu with additional features.”

The website, www.bettersupermenu.com, helps users to choose what to display on the menu, as well as make custom visual modifications and connections to other applications.

Particular attention has been paid in this update to the visual aspects of the menu. Previously, Huttenrauch said, the apps all looked very similar when displayed. But now, users can customize how their Podio account looks based on which app they’re using, creating visual clues that can lead to less confusion. The company believes that being able to customize and differentiate the apps will save time and boost productivity. “For users with many workspaces and apps, it is essential to have a visual cue or anchor to quickly understand where they currently are within the platform,” Huttenrauch said.

Huttenrauch indicated he and the company will continue to look for ways Chrome extensions can improve user experiences for their client base. “I only realized recently how powerful Chrome extensions can be in manipulating any website’s DOM [document object model] to better serve our end user,” he said.

The update was released last month, and so far the user response has been overwhelmingly positive.

“One user went as far as saying that with the recent update, our Super Menu has become a ‘super duper menu,’” Huttenrauch shared.
