The annual rankings by Inc. magazine represent the most comprehensive overview of independent entrepreneurs in the country. The 2014 Inc. 5000 list ranked companies according to the percentage revenue growth they experienced from 2010 to 2013. To qualify for the 2014 list, companies had to have minimum revenue of $100,000 in 2010 and minimum revenue of $2 million in 2013. In the current economic environment, median growth rate of 2014 Inc. 500|5000 companies was 516 percent, up from last year’s 142 percent median growth rate. The companies on this year’s list report having created over 505,000 jobs in the past three years, and aggregate revenue among the honorees reached $211 billion.
