Kary Towing Keeping Busy with Snowfall in Metro Vancouver and Fraser Valley This Morning

As many drivers in the Metro Vancouver and Fraser Valley woke to a winter wonderland this morning, they found it is better to look at than to drive in. Even with the warning from Environment Canada, people still ventured out without snow tires.

SURREY, British Columbia - Dec. 20, 2013 - PRLog -- It seems that anytime the snow falls in the Metro Vancouver area and Fraser Valley, drivers are shocked that they can not stay on the road when driving with summer tires still. Even with the advanced snowfall warning, they are not prepared for the road conditions.

If you are not going to spend the money for decent snow tires for the few days a year that we see snow, stay home during the heavy snowfalls. Unfortunately, if you fail to prepare your vehicle for winter driving and you have an accident, your liability may be an issue. Even worse, you are placing yourself, your passengers and other people at higher risk for injury or worse.

You may want to get your Christmas shopping done and be feeling the presure but what good is a gift when the person giving it is no longer alive to share in the smile of the person receiving such gifts.

Please use caution on the roads. If you have 4 wheel drive, remember that it does not allow you to stop any faster than 2 wheel drive. Increase following distance, slow down for conditions, winterize your vehicle and carry a small emergency kit in your car in case you get stuck for a few hours waiting for a tow truck or others. Clean the snow off of your vehicle so that it does not blow onto the windshield as your wipers are not made for the weight of large chunks of snow and ice.

Be patient with other drivers as they may not be confident in the snow and ice. By honking at them and yelling, you are only adding to their stress and increasing the chances of them making a dangerous move or action. When someone frustrates you on the road, think about how you would want someone to treat your mother or child in such a situation. Patience and compassion go much further than anger and ignorance.

Be safe out there and have a very Merry Christmas everyone. If you do get stuck, feel free to call Kary Towing and we would be happy to help out. reasonable rates and professional service. Serving Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. Part of the Kary Movers Group of Companies.
