WEBINAR and NEW SERIES: Adventurous Living, with REBT expert Ed Garcia, MA, CSW

Part 1 The Adventurous Person: Emotions and Challenges with more in the series to follow
 
MENTOR, Ohio - July 9, 2013 - PRLog -- SMART Recovery® announces a new free Special Events Webinar, “Adventurous Living,” with popular favorite, Ed Garcia, to be held Friday, July 26, 2013 at 8:00 PM EDT.   In addition, this will be the kick-off for a new SMART Online offering of ongoing “Discussions with Ed.”  Registration for the Webinar and details may be found at www.smartrecovery.org/events.  

Mr. Garcia describes life as a never ending series of events.  The adventure is not only in the events we encounter, but it is even more in the manner in which we perceive them.”  Initial discussion will focus on “The Adventurous Person:  Emotions and Challenges.”  The goal for this highly interactive series is to serve as a catalyst in providing opportunities for all of us to experience adventurous living through exploration of REBT concepts.

Among many achievements, Mr. Garcia has an extensive and diversified background in the field of human behavior. He holds both an undergraduate and graduate degree from New York University. His post graduate work was conducted at the Institute for Advanced Study in Rational Emotive Therapy, where Mr. Garcia worked extensively with Dr. Albert Ellis, one of the nation's top Cognitive/Behavior Psychologists, whose work is represented in the SMART Recovery program. Upon completion of his four year internship, he became a Fellow of the Institute and was appointed Co-Director of Clinical Training there, a position he held for five years until his move to Atlanta, GA, where he currently resides.

Mr. Garcia developed and appeared in a five hour TV presentation for WPBS entitled Developing Emotional Muscle.  He has hosted two webinar series for SMART Recovery® Online, podcasts available, at:  www.smartrecovery.libsyn.com, and is a highly popular speaker both within and beyond the SMART community.  

As part of his own adventurous living, he is a world adventure traveler, a sculptor, photographer, and currently does volunteer work at The Fernbank Museum of Natural History with their exotic animals including snakes, lizards, and tarantulas.
