Andhra plans to add logistics infrastructure for Nellore

In order to enhance the movement of trucks and container vehicles going in and out of the Krishnapatnam and other non-major ports on the AP coast, the government is going to set up a dedicated truck terminal and logistics hub in Nellore district.

KOLKATA, India - May 15, 2013 - PRLog -- The Andhra Pradesh Govt. is planning to set up dedicated truck terminal and logistics hub in Nellore district towards performing logistics obligation in the Bangalore-Chennai-Krishnapatnam Port Freight Corridor.

The project will be undertaken by AP Industrial Infrastructure Corp. and it is expected that the project will be operational within a year.

The proposed terminal will be constructed over an area of 51 acres with the basic logistics facility as well as other services pertaining to export and import of goods later on.

The project will situate at Venkatachalam involving an investment about INR 40 crore.

The corridor will facilitate the extensive movement of trucks and container vehicles moving towards inner and outer of the Krishnapatnam and other non-major ports on the AP coast.

The central govt. has sanctioned 15 crore as grant whereas the state govt. has provided INR 10 crore to initiate the progress of the project.
