By: Chemistry Public Relations WHO: The free event is open to Ridgecrest residents only. No businesses or non-Ridgecrest resident may take advantage of this program. WHEN: Friday, April 5, 2013 8am-11am WHERE: Ridgecrest Senior Center 125 Warner Street WHY: Residents are encouraged to drop off their sharps to ensure they are properly disposed of and to help Ridgecrest meet state mandates which prohibit the disposal of these materials into the waste stream. This effort will also help to keep sanitation service workers safe from potential injury. HOW: Residents can drop off any of the approved sharps including syringes, needles, lancets and household items to the drop off location. Residents can also dispose of needles, lancets and other sharps easily from their own home through Waste Management’s MedWaste Tracker™ mail back program. Contact WM customer service for a free container and it will be delivered to your house. Simply fill the kit and mail back using the pre-paid postage label. Each resident is entitled to one free kit each year and a second kit is available with a $5 co-pay. Additional containers are available at full price of the container and there is a limit of one kit at a time.
