Atlanta Based True Witness Inks Distribution Deal With Universal Records Music Group

Feb. 21, 2013 - PRLog -- True Witness is an Atlanta, Georgia based Christian independent Rock Band. During the 28th Annual Stellar Awards weekend; True Witness showcased in The PG Network’s “A Stellar Exclusive” showcase for Independent Artists; after showcasing the band was offered a distribution deal with Universal Records Music Group. They also recently received First Place during season one of the Prayze Factor’s People’s Choice Awards with over 260,000 nationwide votes and they also won Prayze Factor’s Best Christian Rock Band of the Year.

Last year proved to be a phenomenal year for True Witness; they received a 2012 Gospel Choice Award Nomination and were honored with a 2012 Inspirational Music Humanitarian Award for their songwriting, video documentary and performance work with the “Reach Project”. In 2011, True Witness received the Urban Inspirational Award for "Best Rock Band" and received nominations from the 2011 Gospel Choice Awards. In 2010, the band has also received a Grammy nomination by (NARAS) the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences for Best Rock Performance by a duo or group with vocals.

The band’s passion is to inspire lives through music and lyrics and be identified as a rock band for the people, dynamically relating to all age ranges and genres on and off the stage. Their artistic contemporary rock sound merges a high energy blend of acoustic and electric rock with inspirational thought provoking lyrics. True Witness originated as an acoustic band in 2002 with Tom Bowen, Tim and Dan Adams. The high-spirited band enhanced their depth of inspirational, positive rock music by evolving into a significant touring rock band since 2007 performing throughout the New England / Northeast, Mid Atlantic and the Southeast. Throughout the years and all their tour experiences, the rock group became very diversified, performing in coffee houses, famed bars and clubs; and they have also performed at many large conferences and amusement parks such as Millennium Music Conference, Harrisburg, Pa, Cape May Singer Songwriter, NJ, Six Flags in Jackson, NJ and Six Flags in Lake George, NY. They were recognized as a Notable Winner in New York City’s premiere Musicians and Emerging Artist of New York (MEANY) festival 2009. True Witness relocated from upstate New York to Atlanta, Georgia and the band was extremely energized to increase their fan base by reaching out and extending their tours across the south and the nation.

On October 28th, 2011, True Witness released their 3rd CD, “Send Me” in Atlanta, Georgia and returned back on tour.
