-- Christian Eissele, 20, is the leading scorer in Finland’s Kakkonen league as he completes his first professional soccer season with PS Kemi Kings of Kemi, Finland. Christian, who is signed through the 2013 season, has 20 league goals in 24 games and 2 goals in 2 games in the 2012 Suomen Cup. The Kings finished third in the Kakkonen in the 2012 season.
Before signing earlier this year with the Kemi Kings, Christian was a member of the Richmond International Academic Soccer Academy (RIASA) and has spent the previous year studying and training in Leeds, England. The RIASA program is designed for players to pursue a professional career while attending college classes through Richmond University of London.
Christian played his youth soccer with Orlando City Youth Soccer Club, Lake Mary High School (Class of 2010) and one season with the University of Central Florida (Fall 2010).
Christian was also a member of the Orlando City Youth Soccer Club team that reached the Florida Youth Soccer Association (FYSA) State Cup Final Four for three consecutive years. In 2009, he was selected to the FYSA ODP State Team. A 2010 graduate of Lake Mary High School, Christian was selected to the Orlando Sentinel All Central Florida Men’s Soccer Team in 2009, and a first team member Seminole Athletic Conference Soccer Team in 2009. He scored 26 goals and had 16 assists in two seasons for Lake Mary High School.
“Living in a foreign country forces you to adapt to a completely different culture. Differences in language, weather, food, norms, and personalities make it a whole lot of fun—and a big adventure. These last 10 months have been incredible. I am so very thankful for the whole thing,” wrote Eissele.
