Follow on Google News | BAM Outsource Surprised by 5G AnnouncementOutsource sales company BAM Outsource was surprised to learn that plans for 5G are going full steam weeks before 4G is even released.
By: BAM Outsource Professor Rahim Tafozolli, director of Surrey University’s Centre for Communications Systems Research, said that work had already begun on the project. “The boundaries between mobile communication and the internet are blurring, so the fifth generation is internet on the move.” Though the announcement may come as a surprise to the public who are only just getting their head around 4G, Prof Tafozolli said “4G for us is old hat. We started working on 4G 10 years ago.” BAM Outsource understands that each year mobile data traffic is doubling but capacity is struggling to keep up. The team at Surrey University hope to make the new network more economical than its predecessors, “We are facing systems which are too expensive. We need something extremely energy efficient and cost efficient.” When can we expect to see the new network in place? The scientists seem confident that the new 4G network is sufficient for the next 10 years so they’re working towards a 2020 deadline. Benjamin Knowles, managing director of BAM Outsource, is glad that the UK is getting ahead of the game. “When it came to 4G we managed to get left behind by our international competitors like America and South Korea. If we want to ensure that we stay well ahead of the game we need to get a jump-start on everyone else. At BAM Outsource we’re glad that the UK is being forward thinking and proactive.” The date for the release of Everything Everywhere’s 4G network has yet to be announced though it is expected in the coming weeks. Does BAM Outsource think it will be a popular service? Mr Knowles said, “You’ve only got to take a bus or train journey in the morning to realise how much people use their phones now. People are watching films, the news, browsing the internet. The speed of 4G is going to have a huge effect on how people use their phones. We think it’s going to be a great success.” End
