BAM Outsource's Twitter Tips for Businesses

BAM Outsource wants to encourage more companies to use social media marketing and has compiled their top tips for Tweeting.

Jan. 7, 2013 - PRLog -- At BAM Outsource we started to understand the power of Twitter when we learnt that the social media platform currently has 140 million users, and sees up to 340 million tweets a day. With this many potential customers using it we believe it is important that all companies see the benefits. Twitter is a fantastic way to create a positive brand image at a very low cost. In order to help other businesses get started and begin to explore the advantages of using Twitter, we’ve compiled our top Twitter tips.

To get started it’s essential that you build your Twitter community. This can be done by:

-          Creating a user-friendly Twitter name that is easy for users to identify your company with. Keep the name simple, a long company name isn't very memorable. It is also better to avoid underscores and numbers if possible, as this does nothing to create a strong brand image.

-         Do your Twitter research, make sure you know what people are posting about your brand and respond accordingly.

-         Learn the Twitter language, some basic language used on Twitter includes: ‘RT‘ which is when you retweet another Twitter users tweet, @ is used to reply directly to another user’s tweet, whilst a ‘trend’ on Twitter is a topic that lots of people are mentioning in their tweets.

How to post on Twitter:

At BAM Outsource we think it’s important to remind you that even though tweets are limited to a small number of characters, they should still be well written in terms of grammar and punctuation.

Tweets are a fun way of communicating with the public; don’t make them too structured or formal.

Do not be a silent Twitter user,  you can only create an online presence if you Tweet often.

What to post on Twitter:

Don’t always use Twitter for direct advertising or sales, instead use it to stimulate conversation and actively engage users and inform them of your firm’s corporate culture.

A representative from BAM Outsource suggests, “Your posts on Twitter are meant to create a positive brand image, therefore they should include topics such as a success story of the firm or something the company is interested in outside of its own industry.”

Post a variety of media including photos and videos as well as links to other useful or interesting content you want to share. Also make sure your Twitter page links to your company’s other online sites for example Facebook and the company website.

Not all of these suggestions may be suitable for your specific business but at BAM Outsource we’re confident that with some time and effort you can create an incredible Twitter buzz for your company.  Add us @bamoutsource when you’re building your community!
