BAM Outsource Looks at the Rise of Pinterest

Dec. 12, 2012 - PRLog -- A year ago you might not have heard of Pinterest but over the past few months the social network has started to take on the big boys of social media. Pinterest is a virtual pinboard which allows users to ‘pin’ pictures of things they like onto ‘boards’ and share them with others on the site. Statistics calculating the number of website visitors over the last few months have shown that Pinterest is now ranked third behind Facebook and Twitter in popularity on the web.

The figures showed that Facebook had 7 billion visits, Twitter 182 million, Pinterest 104 million, and LinkedIn 86 million. Outsource sales company BAM Outsource are avid users of social media to reach their clients’ customers and as a way to interact with their own sales team. Pinterest has certainly caught their eye but how has the website got some a huge user-base in such a shot amount of time?

Pinterest, until very recently, used to require new users to request an invitation to join and wait to be accepted. Sound stupid?
