Audiobooks Pop! releases new iOS app - ‘Audiobooks - Tales’ Third ioS App Release for Fall 2012.
Audiobook Pop! expands its iOS app offering. Audiobooks - Tales will be released October 4, 2012. Audiobooks - Tales is a compilation of fairy tales and folk tales from around the world, collected from the best audiobooks at Librivox.org.
In addition to audiobooks of Grimms’ Fairy Tales and Aesop’s Fables, you also get tales from The Arabian Nights, West Africa, Japan, Canada, and American Indians. Hundreds of hours of audiobooks themed and curated from Audiobook Pop!
Audiobook Pop! was founded in 2010 to provide a solution to the following three points of pain:
● buying audiobooks is expensive,
● owning, renting and borrowing CDs can be a hassle,
● being offered thousands of books by other apps is overwhelming.
Audiobook Pop! curates its content so that there is minimal decision making, ease of use and affordability. Too much choice is not a good thing. The audio books are free to download, included with the cost of the app.
Boise mom and filmmaker, Elizabeth Rodgers, first had the vision for an audiobook app when she took a road trip with her family, including two young children. “There’s nothing wrong with watching DVDs on the road, but I’m determined to raise them as readers.”
The non-technical Rodgers partnered with Boisean designer and developer, Mazal Simantov. Together they architected the simplicity and intuitiveness of the app and Simantov created the elegantly simple design. The keys to success were threefold: ease of use, great content, efficient user choice. In February 2011, the first app, Audiobooks For Your Kids, was launched.
Once the original app had been established, Rodgers and Simantov received feedback from users that similar apps with different themes would be well received. To meet that demand, in Spring 2012, they released Audiobooks - Sci-Fi and, in early summer, Audiobooks - Austen. Audiobooks - Bronte, a Bronte Sisters anthology -- Anne, Emily and Charlotte - will be released later in 2012.
Users can search through the selection of global fairy tales by author, title, age, narrator or with a keyword search.
A must-have iOS app, Audiobooks - Tales lets you effortlessly listen to classic fairy tales from around the world, simply download the stories and you are ready to go. Available on iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. Android coming soon.
Audiobook Pop! will launch Audiobooks - Bronte (all three sisters, Charlotte, Emily and Anne) – later in 2012.
