June 10, 2012 - PRLog -- Sweet Claudette (Harrell-Manning) is headed south for a great fun, rocking, funky, real-deal, blues performance at Gips Place at 3101 Avenue C, Bessmer, Alabama on Saturday, June 16th. Get there before 9 PM so you don't miss anything.
Sweet Claudette's style is tastefully sassy, sultry, funky, greasy and more. She can rock it from the stage or bring it out to the audience. This lady is an entertainer who can give you music you like, the way you want it, good, raw, or low down and dirty.
Claudette shares some of her own original treats.  Her music has been added to Alabama radio station airplay lists, for quite a few years. Titles for some of her  original songs may easily stick in your mind (i.e.) 'Aint Gonna Wash Your Dirty Clothes' or 'Sending You To Man School' or 'Too Many Irons'.  This lady aint no slouch when it comes to doing some fan favorite cover tunes, either.
Sweet Claudette's show is a 'must-be-there' for all you blues aficionados. Comfortable dance shoes are almost a requirement, as well as clothing you don't mind sweating in.  Come on out and burn some calories off. Sweet Claudette will probably join you on the dance floor. You just might hear one of her silly, spontaneous jokes which tend to bubble up and spill out. Her act is geared to play off the audience.
Traveling with her for this show are some of her Detroit band mates: Greg Manning (drums), Nicholas Tabarias (guitar), Marty Montgomery (Sax). Joining them will be local area talent George Griffin (guitar) and  Barry Wasserman (bass)
Sweet Claudette was recently recognized with an Indie Music Channel Award as the Best Female Blues Artist 2012. She cites some of her fondest memories as: working with the Alabama Women of the Blues, 2005 - 2010. Some other Alabama area events Sweet Claudette has previously performed at were Freedom Creek,  Magic City Blues Society sponsored Junkyard Juke and the Johnny Shines Festivals. "What great times those were", says Sweet Claudette.
"It's great to be back home" says Sweet Claudette. "I was born in Heflin, Alabama and now I've come full circle again, back to my Alabama roots."
