Local school learns how to build a home.

May 26, 2012 - PRLog -- They have just started running an after school Construction Club and the visit provided some real hands on experience for the pupils, who were aged 5-7. Davidsons provided hard hats and high visibility vests, which the children were able to take back with them.
Site managers Tim Platts and John Lambert provided the tour and the children saw lots of different aspects of the construction process, including block and brick laying – and mortar being mixed in very large quantities. The pupils loved the whole experience and were keeping the site managers on their toes asking lots of questions, like ‘how many bricks does it take to build a home?’
Joanne Cresswell, from Grangemount, who accompanied the children on their visit, set up the Construction Club. “I was looking for something that would interest both boys and girls and that could grow as their skills develop. They have been carrying out table top projects and floor projects inside the school, using modular building systems and we are now looking at building a den outside on the school grounds, using a variety of real materials. They thought their visit was fantastic and really enjoyed seeing how a new home was built.”
