How to develop good driving habits

Jan. 7, 2012 - PRLog -- Many people struggle to develop good driving habits because it is so much easier to just let them slip away. Many people after taking driving lessons go on a downwards spiral and pick up bad habits left right and centre and this article is here to stop that!

Developing your good driving habits is never an easy task and to do it correctly you need expert advice. There are a few things to remember when driving to make sure you aren't slipping into bad habits.

Firstly a blind spot check is essential when you have been stood for more than a few seconds. This is one of the worst driving habits to slip out of because anything can happen in a few seconds which could cause you or someone else injury or even death! So don't slip out of this habit and always try to develop it further.

Secondly always tell other drivers what you intend to do! This means when exiting roundabouts, emerging, or turning into a junction use the indicator stalk just next to the steering wheel. As you develop as a driver you will understand why this is so important to do. When you start developing this good driving habit even more you will find you can read other driver’s intentions a lot easier than you could before.

Always make sure everyone who is a passenger in your car has a seat belt on, this saves lives in the event of an accident. Even if you are the best driver on the road it is still possible for you to make a mistake or for someone else to. Get into a good habit of always making sure your passengers have seat belts on and you could save their lives!

Finally always look in the place you want to move your car. When driving forward you wouldn't be looking out of the back window. It makes sense that if you want to move your car somewhere then look first.
